Normandie Casino - A Review
February 4, 2009
So it’s February 2009 and I was needing a break from playing poker in Arizona so I headed out to Los Angeles and decided to check out the scene. With all the casinos in Los Angeles, I’ve sampled my fair taste of a lot of them but on this night, I went to Normandie Casino in Gardena, just about 20 minutes outside of Los Angeles.
First thing I can tell you, it’s not the biggest of casinos but it was easy to get to, and seemed like it was going to be a fun place to play some poker……then I went inside. If you ever wanted to see a living zoo of a casino, then Normandie is the freak show that you want.
I was in the casino for under 2 minutes, I saw a couple thrown out by security, I saw numerous arguements breaking out between players and dealers, players and pit bosses, and players with other players.
I sat down to a 40/80 table and was shocked at the horrid play. I am not a professional, I dont pretend to be, but even I was shaking my head at some of the hands that were being shown. The only bad beat I took was from a guy in the 6 seat who decided to slow roll me when he made trips on the turn, and then tried to justify to me why he played J3os and why he called 3 bets preflop cold. Whatever, those players are always there.
If you are a pro, then this casino is for you , enough horrid players to fill your bankroll up but enough also to give you some bad beats.
For the average pro, semi pro, regular player….find another casino in thea area.
AzPokeNews gives Normandie Casino…one thumbs up. Enjoy.
