ivey-08-300x200 Phil Ivey Conquers 2008It’s the time of year when many people are making New Year’s Resolutions. Poker pro Phil Ivey probably hopes for more of the same in 2009, at least in terms of his success playing online.

According to Pokernews.com, Ivey was the biggest winner in 2008 on Full Tilt, banking an incredible $7.54 million.

Ivey wasn’t the only recognizable player among the site’s top 10 winners.

World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Galfond ($6.97 million), Tom Dwan ($5.36 million), David Benyamine ($2.93 million) and Patrik Antonius ($1.9 million) also cashed in nicely at the expense of others.

Also in the article is the rumor that the accounts of the five biggest losers all belong to billionaire and high stakes player Guy Laliberte. The five accounts combined to lose $17 million in 2008 after dropping $24.8 million in 2007.
